The backup plan means Kara taking in the sun’s direct energy but leaving the central star weakened for the rest of the world. Supergirl is able to find the Destiny Totem, and when she passes the gauntlet, Alex takes it so she can give it to Lex and get back her daughter. Speaking of which, Nia and Brainy enter the Dream Realm so they can find some answers about the last Destiny Totem, and they find out Esme is safe right now. Their support system is unmatched and proves Esme’s moms are strong and love one another. Within The Tower, Alex and Kelly are getting ready for their team’s plan while trying to stay strong for their daughter. Lena informs Andrea that she can either continue to live a life as a monster or she can pivot and atone for her wrongdoings. But the adoptive Luthor daughter also admits that she felt the way Andrea does right now after making impulsive and destructive relationships. After Andrea again calls herself a monster, especially after William dies because of something she did, Lena gives in and agrees with her. This conversation has a lot of race and xenophobic themes, which is weird because it has audiences siding with Lex for his tolerance. Nyxly and Lillian eventually meet for the first time and get a gauge for one another, with Lex being the main topic. She questions her son’s feelings for an alien, but that does not change the mind of Lex, who is clearly head over heels for Nyxly. Supergirl series finale: Doubts cross Nyxly’s mindĪfter some time away, the matriarch of the Luthor household returns with Lillian Luthor. This leads to Nyxly trying to get closer to Esme while keeping Lex’s plan of much less compassion in the back of her head. Time is running out, however, since whenever Nyxly tries to enter the gauntlet, the rose petals fall away, meaning the totem will change hosts soon. Nyxly and Lex try and decide how they will go about retrieving it, with Lex saying this was Nyxly’s fatal downfall in his original timeline. While standing over William’s lifeless body, J’onn and Kara explain how they are both on the same page - they will do anything to get Esme back from the villains, no matter the cost.Īt Lex’s hideout, Nyxly struggles to enter the Love Totem’s gauntlet, and she thinks it is because Esme does not trust the Imp princess. Each member of the heroic group tries to add their skills and abilities to the plan, while Kara has to reassure Alex that her daughter will be back. The Supergirl series finale starts off strong with the Super Friends crafting a plan to get Esme back into her mother’s arms from the dastard Lex Luthor and Nyxly.
